Finally finished the floor! LOL

Scott and I have been working diligently the last few weeks to finish putting new molding around all the doors and new baseboards. I had painted and glazed the wood to look like stain with a color close to the color of our floor and the kitchen cabinets. We think it turned out really close. As you can see we are nearly done. I wanted to have the wood that was lying on the great-room floor gone so that it was out of the way.
A funny thing happened when Jeremy and Lisa came over for Easter. They both commented that we had finally finished the floor. I just laughed. We are SO SLOW to get these projects done that we have not had baseboards for quite some time now, but we did finish the actual floor over a year ago. That tells you just how much BETTER it looks now. Much more finished. We are quite happy with the results for a couple of newbies at such a thing.

We had a wonderful ham dinner after our Easter egg hunt. Hopefully we can do it again.

On Saturday Jeremy. Lisa, and Makale (and Grandma Buckland -not pictured) came to celebrate Easter. Our plans changed a lot over the last week as we were supposed to go to Kim's (Scott's daughter) for a family gathering. Jared, Jen, and family were also supposed to be here but all of them got quite sick. We pray for their quick recovery!!
Makale had a great time with his Easter basket. He received 2 trucks, his favorites, along with a bucket, and some plastic animals inside his eggs. He loves opening them. We would closed them again but when he found they were empty he would throw them away. We left the lawn long just so they would be slightly hidden. He was quite methodical with each one. Dad videotaped the event. I think this is one of the very first times we have ever really used our backyard. It is so noisy from the busy street behind us. I will pull out the blowup pool though for Makale when he comes to visit again in May and June. He loves his pool.
