We got a surprise when Jared told us that he had been asked by B&W in Virginia for his resume. The lab in Idaho had him do a lot of traveling. He has been to Belgium, Tennessee I think, and Virginia too, working on this project. He has been overseeing the project and in Virginia they are more on the manufacturing side of things. So he has accepted a new position there which will add to his resume and allow him to get a more hands on use of his mechanical engineering degree. The company gave them a great moving package. They packed and moved them, shipped their cars, and will help to sell their home and house them until they buy a home in Virginia. They have a year to complete that.
So they planned a trip to CA in between jobs. They were only here for 3 days but that was great. Zach is so smiley! He is so quick to lite up his face. What a cutie! And RJ, ever my hugger and sweetie. And Savannah, the beauty! Wow, her 3 year old pics are amazing. She has the most beautiful natural curls in her hair. She is so cute and loves to smile too. She jabbers away sometimes in an unknown language, such a ham. They are all so different and so special. Oh, how I will miss them!!!!!! Virginia is a lot further. We wont see them 2 or 3 times a year like we have been.
I offered to have Jen's family come over Sunday so we could share time together (yes, I was being selfish!!!). It was so nice. I was sad that Kim forgot about it and went to San Jose to be with her mom, but Josh did come! He went to a concert in Concord Sat night and got a room. So he came up Sunday after church and spent the afternoon with us. (Luz went home to Argentina for a semester of college). It was so good to see him.
Jen's parents, brothers, and grandparents came too. It was a bunch but really it was enjoyable. Geniel and I get along really well.
Later after they were gone we played a game of Farkel with Jared, Jen and RJ. Savannah had crashed.
I had to work Monday but Jared and Jen spent time with her grandparents and packed up. They sadly said goodbye Monday evening and drove to Sacramento. They had to be there all day Tuesday so their truck could get picked up for the move. Then Wed. they flew to Virginia. I got a call that night from RJ and Savannah. RJ was so excited that he starts kindergarten soon. They had to be there for orientation the next day. They arrived late, lost 3 hours, had 2 wired kids after being cooped up in planes all day, and had to be up early the next day. I talked to Jen and she wasn't sure how that was going to happen. The kids were jumping all over and jabbering in the background.
Well, we wish them all the best. Pray that they'll be able to sell their home for a decent price in this terrible economy. We will miss them but are SO grateful for family, love, and the internet with Skype, the free camera phone online! The blogs help too to keep us feeling a part of their lives.
We love you!!
